LBS Round 2 of Semi-Finals. Escazu and ARBA reach Finals

Escazu - Heredia 87-69

Escazu knocked down Heredia to sweep the semifinal series. Escazu forced 32 Heredia turnovers and outrebounded them 61-34 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Victor Arias (-95) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Daniel Shedden (190-96, college: MSUB) chipped in 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Panamanian Amir Alvarado (198-84, college: Marshalltown) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and Herny Linton (-91) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

ARBA - Alajuela 116-57

ARBA outgunned Alajuela to advance into LBS Finals. ARBA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Alajuela's 30. They shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. The former international forward Amaurys Ripool (196-86) notched 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Jeikel Davis supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four ARBA players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by Jeikol Rojas (-2) did not help to save the game for Alajuela. Jhan Mayorga added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
